The government has decreased the excise duty on motorcycles between 200cc-250cc through the budget of the upcoming fiscal year. As per the new provision, the government has reduced the excise duty from 80 percent to 60 percent. After the deduction of the excise duty, the price of the motorcycles in this segment will be reduced significantly.Similarly, the excise duty on motorcycles between 250cc-400cc has been reduced as well. The excise duty on this segment was up to 90 percent earlier, but now it will be only 70 percent. Moreover, for motorcycles assembled in Nepal, the excise duty has been fixed at 30 percent. Similarly, the road construction fee has been reduced from Rs 50,000 to Rs 20,000.This provision will largely benefit customers who are looking to purchase Royal Enfield, Jawa, Yezdi, KTM, BMW, Crossfire, Benelli and Honda, etc.
